2. HYDROPHIL

Are the bamboo toothbrushes completely compostable?
The bristles of HYDROPHIL toothbrushes are made of bioplastic, which is produced from castor oil. Bioplastic takes much less time to degrade than crude oil-based plastic. Nevertheless, we recommend disposing of the bristles in residual waste, as they would take several decades to degrade in nature. Industrial composting plants also do not process organic waste long enough to decompose bioplastics. The big advantage of bioplastic over conventional plastic is therefore not its degradability, but rather the fact that only renewable raw materials have to be used.
Are the colors used in the bamboo toothbrushes safe for children?
Yes, because we use ecological and solvent-free colored paints from the natural paint manufacturer AURO. This means that the paints are harmless for your kids.
What exactly is konjac sponge made of?
The sponge consists of the roots of the konjac plant. These are dried, processed into flour and then baked. The sponge is therefore made entirely of natural material. The ribbon is made of cotton.
What material are the cotton buds made of?
The shaft is made of 100% bamboo, an extremely fast-growing raw material. Unlike paper, which has to be produced or processed first, the cotton buds can be made directly from bamboo. For the swabs, we use organic cotton from GOTS-certified cultivation for our cotton buds.
How should the loofah soap cushion be disposed of correctly?
Our loofah soap cushion is 100% biodegradable, which means you can easily dispose of it in organic waste or compost.
Please cut off the cotton tag first and dispose of it in the residual waste.
What material is the toothbrush tumbler made of?
All toothbrush mugs are made from the organic material Arboblend.
The material is made from renewable raw materials such as cellulose, natural waxes and lignin. It is free from melamine, formaldehyde and BPA, but is tasteless and naturally food-safe.
Arboblend, also known as liquid wood, consists of the following components: natural waxes, lignin, polylactide, polyhydroxybutyric acid, starch, natural resins, natural fatty acids, cellulose, green PE, bio-PA and organic additives.
The cup is disposed of with the residual waste.
The material of our toothbrush mugs is not dishwasher-safe, so we recommend rinsing the mug by hand. The print on the mug also benefits from gentle cleaning.

3. DENTAL DELIGHT

Are Dental Delight products vegan?
Our heart beats for animal welfare, nature and the planet we live on. That's why our start-up is PETA-Approved, which means that all our products are vegan.
What ingredients are contained in the toothpastes?
Our toothpastes contain everything your teeth need for complete all-round protection. However, we avoid all kinds of unpleasant ingredients such as palm oil, sodium lauryl sulphate and triclosan. You can find more information about the individual ingredients on the individual toothpaste product pages. If you have any questions on this topic, please send us an email to sales@group.eco.
Does Dental Delight toothpaste contain fluoride?
Dental Delight toothpastes contain 1450ppm sodium fluoride, which corresponds to the recommended value for an adult toothpaste. We follow the recommendation of the German Dental Association, Stiftung Warentest and Öko-Test.
Does Dental Delight toothpaste contain aluminum?
No. Our toothpaste does not contain aluminum, but alumina. We classify the use of alumina (aluminum oxide) as harmless. The use of alumina is even approved for natural cosmetics and is therefore not only harmless in our opinion.
What is the RDA value of the toothpaste?
The RDA value of our toothpaste is in the medium range at approx. 70.
Are the toothbrushes plastic-free?
The quality bristles of the toothbrushes are made of BPA-free nylon. Otherwise, the toothbrushes are plastic-free. The handle is made from biodegradable bamboo and the packaging is 100% plastic-free.

4. NAIKED

Why does Schaun SuperSoap contain palm oil?
The fragrances are all of natural origin.
Are the fragrances used in the tabs natural?
The shelf life is 12 months in its original state.
What is the shelf life of the finished “mix” of the spray bottles?
The dishwashing soap consists of 100% natural ingredients and is completely safe to use in nature as all ingredients are biodegradable.

5. TIO

How are TIO products disposed of?
Unfortunately, Germany's industrial composting plants do not yet accept bioplastics, even though some of them are biodegradable.
Why do we donate to Plant-for-the-Planet?
Although our products are designed to be very sustainable, emissions are generated during production and transportation. To offset these wherever possible, we support the Plant-for-the-Planet reforestation project. According to current knowledge, nothing can combat global warming as effectively as reforestation. Plant-for-the-Planet has made it its mission to raise awareness of global justice and climate change among both children and adults and to counteract the latter through tree planting campaigns. Plant-for-the-Planet also supports the education of children and young people for climate justice with its own academies. You can find more information about Plant-for-the-Planet at https://www.plant-for-the-planet.org/de/startseite.
Why do we use bioplastics?
Taking into account factors such as the material, the application and the lifespan of the product - made from bioplastics - up to 70% less CO₂ is emitted during its production. The smart cultivation of plants as a raw material for plastic production has less impact on nature than oil production and keeps the cycle in balance. In addition, natural materials are also less risky in terms of transportation: possible accidents do not cause any ecological damage compared to petroleum shipments - e.g. tanker accidents. Bioplastics are made from plant-based raw materials. The rapidly (re-)growing plants extract carbon from the atmosphere as they grow. We primarily use plastic based on sugar cane, a related species of bamboo. By processing it into plastic, we can manufacture sophisticated products such as electric toothbrush heads or dental floss, which is not possible with completely natural products such as bamboo. We also achieve better hygiene thanks to the smooth surfaces, as germs cannot penetrate the surface.
How is bioplastic disposed of?
In theory, plant-based plastics are compostable, but they are not currently accepted in any industrial composting plant as they take longer to decompose than the usual plant waste processed there. As soon as they are thicker than a film, they would also take too long to decompose in nature. We therefore use recyclable materials wherever possible, such as plant-based PE, which can be safely disposed of in the yellow garbage can.
What is the global warming potential?
The global warming potential is a measure for the comparability of different greenhouse gases. As one of the biggest causes of climate change is CO₂ emissions during energy conversion, a CO₂ equivalent is specified for gases such as methane, nitrous oxide and various refrigerants. This figure indicates the extent to which a mass of this gas contributes to global warming compared to the same mass of CO₂.
What is the CO₂ footprint of our product?
In order to create products that are as environmentally friendly as possible, we adhere to the following principles of sustainable design:

1. Rethink the material you use - Instead of crude oil-based plastic, we use plastics made from renewable raw materials. This creates a significantly better CO₂ balance.

2. Reduce the amount of resources you use - We try to use as little material as necessary and leave out everything that is superfluous. This enables us to conserve valuable resources. With our manual toothbrush with replaceable head, around 70% of waste can be saved as the head can be replaced again and again.

3. Reuse what makes sense - We focus on durability and reusability. Whether it's reusable packaging or recyclable plastics. We think holistically and try to produce as little waste as possible.

6. Kuno

What makes Kuno different from other detergents?
